I was sponsored with 4 Lovemore masks of different flavours and a box of 5pcs of Sexylook masks from Secretive.sg !!! Although I do have tonnes of masks lying around everywhere in my room, but like clothes, we ladies can never ever have too many of masks as well! :pThe 4 flavours of the Lovemore masks include :
A useful tip in choosing a suitable mask sheet for the current condition of your skin is to observe, analyse and understand your skin better.
For example, if you are nearing 'that time of the month' and where hormones are raging all over the place and you know yourself that this is also the period where you are most prone to those annoying red bumps, pimples or acne, you should get a mask that helps soothe and calm the redness down. Look out for mask sheets such as Tea Tee Oil properties, Aloe Vera as its main ingredients or if it states 'Clear complexion skin'.
Or if you have oily complexion or combination skin with oily T-zone, choose masks that helps to control oil secretion and remove any excess sebum.
I understand how difficult it is for those with combination skin because you are bothered not only by the oily T-zone but the rest of your facial skin might be dry as well, thus, the terminology 'combination'. What I can suggest is that you may proceed using masks which helps to hydrate and moisturise but with the remaining essence, perhaps what you can do is to massage them onto the dry areas, avoiding the T-zone areas (Forehead, Nose and Chin). This way, you are not over-hydrating your oily areas which could backfire to produce excess sebum and oil.
As I am having some unexplainable tiny red bumps though not inflamed and sore, I decided to use the Peal Barley & Milk Smoothing Mask flavour. It was also because the 'Clear Complexion Skin' that caught my eye.
I was elated when I read that this masks also helps to brighten and whiten the skin! It's like killing 1 bird with 2 stones! :D
Maybe I was a little too bought over by the 'Clear complexion skin' description on the front because my targetted problem was not solved :(
- Mask was not dripping wet
- Slight immediate results as it slightly brightened and whitened my face
- Transparent outlook
- Skin feels soft and supple
- Mask had 2 different 'sheet coverings' which require you to peel them off before using. 1 of them was of those 'kitchen towel' material and the wet mask got stuck onto it even more compared to the plastic sheet with holes. Hence, you have to be extra careful when peeling them off.
- Mask sheet too thin and tears easily (as shown above on my face)
- Too flimsy
- Holes for the eye areas too big, doesn't fit well
- My red bump is still there

Decided to try out this Facial Fresh mask which I received as 1 of the goodies in 1 of the Bellabox's edition! Was glad to receive the Collagen type as I have too many whitening and hydrating masks lying around! I've decided to place my 'Raves' and 'Rants' in 2 columns side by side so that it's easier for comparison purposes, and also include 'Immediate effects' and 'The next morning effects' Should have done this a long time ago, right? I know I'm slow :( Facial Fresh actually does put in effort into their packaging and appearance, unlike those normal masks which comes without the hard cover or if bought in bulk, it comes in a box. I'm not too sure if FF provides the masks in boxes as well because only 1 sheet mask was given in the Bellabox's edition.
But the packaging inside isn't quite appealing. I know it doesn't make much sense to over-beautify the appearance inside out but silver packaging? Not very appealing for the ladies.
The mask weighed much heavier than others I have tried but I didn't expect the sheet mask to be soaked in the essence! Although value for money, but it's really a very messy job and definitely, judging by the amount of essence, I won't be able to finish using and massaging it onto my face and throw the package away. I didn't intend to massage it onto my body skin either because I had my Nivea whitening lotion on.
Me looking weird. As you can see, although the mask is soaking wet with the collagen essence, it is not sticky and wet enough to stick onto the cheek and nose areas, even after I've tried pressing them down a few times. :(
What I usually look out for in sheet masks is the descriptions and instructions of using them. But as you can see, the instructions missed out on the step on the application of toner, as some facial masks are to be worn after or before toner. I usually pay close attention to the effects and functions of the masks' purposes and for this Collagen mask, it is supposed to act as an anti-ageing agent, promote skin elasticity and hydrates the skin. This is important because users would gauge the effectiveness based on what the masks promised to deliver.
I had to save up the remaining essence of collagen somewhere and thankfully, I've found an empty bottle of my Vichy emulsion which I had completed recently but had a difficult time to wash it thoroughly, especially the straw part.
- Skin feels soft and supple
- A little more elasticity and firmness felt on skin
- Essence not too heavy and oily
- Able to keep the remaining essence for future usage
- Sheet mask made of good quality and thick, does not tear easily
- It's the most expensive out of the other masks by Facial Fresh. Collagen mask costs S$16.95.
- Mask dripping wet
- Have to have readily available empty bottles to store the remaining essence
- T-zone was much oilier the next morning when I woke up
- Application of compact powder was not as smooth compared to other brands of masks used
- It's not sold anywhere else in Singapore. I've only managed to find it on Bellabox's website! Do check out the prices!

Was greeted by a lovely box of 5 pcs of mask of Lovemore Japan Soymilk Enzyme Moisturizing and Soothing Mask when I got home from work the other day. I have combination skin type which main problem rests upon the oily T-zone that targets the forehead, nose and chin. However, more often than not, the rest of your face e.g. cheeks tend to be drier as well. Hence, whenever I'm on the look out for skin care products, I often source for moisturising and hydrating products. This is important because having to stay in an air-conditioned room (at work) almost the whole day and sometimes, at night, our skin tends to get drier and moisture from our skin gets 'sucked' up. Thus, in addition to adequate hydration of fluid intake, we must hydrate our skin on the outside as well. This is my first experience using Lovemore masks and although the effects produced are quite acceptable, I am not very pleased with the quality of their mask. Here's why.1. The mask is dripping wet. Yes, it might imply that Lovemore doesn't compromise on their amount of essence but dripping wet? It's extremely troublesome and messy. I had a difficult time trying to snap good quality pics while the masks drips on like nobody's business. 2. I tore the mask within 5 secs when I got hold of it. The mask quality, in my opinion, is rather poor, although their descriptions seem rather awesome. Comparing to other masks such as My Beauty Diary, Sexylook and Leaders InSolution, Lovemore's masks are of the least quality I've come across. :( Or maybe it's just me, I'm just not gentle enough :(3. It doesn't fit well on my face, but I can't blame them because I have a long sharp almond-like face shape. But well, the overlappings of the mask was quite significant. Or perhaps I've lost weight, HAHA.
Extremely soaked in essence...
The mask tears easily... :(
As you can see, the mask didn't fit well :(
The aftermath was great. The immediate effect that was obvious was the instant brightening results the mask produced! This somehow surprised me because whitening and brightening isn't one of the functions of this mask but yet it managed to! I reckon it might somehow be due to the Vitamin C ingredient :) I massaged the remaining essence in the packet onto my face for 2 mins or so and the essence subsequently was absorbed into my face. It didn't leave any sticky feeling! Plus, I waited for awhile about 2 mins as well to apply my moisturiser. I'm currently using the Kose Supreme Sekkisei's moisturiser I. Woke up this morning to a more soft supple skin and it was well-hydrated. Skin feels more plumped as well. So not so bad for a start, except that Lovemore should focus more on their quality of masks. It would be perfect if they are as fantastic as the rest of the competitiors :) Even the cotton mask from Sexylook didn't tear that easily compared to Lovemore!Hydrate your skin with Lovemore Japan Soymilk Enzyme Moisturizing and Soothing Mask available at Secretive.sg today!Want to know more about Secretive.sg and other awesome masks they sell?Join their facebook page for more updates!https://www.facebook.com/secretive.sghttps://www.facebook.com/LoveMore.sgFor ardent fans of Sexylook, Black Cotton Masks are now selling at only $3.50 at Secretive.sg and at a promotional price of $2.90 at Watsons till 10th October 2012!

Lately, I noticed that there are obvious tiny pimples popping out around my foreheads and brows. Thus, to target this problem, I had chosen to try out the AC-Dressing mask from Leaders InSolution out of the myriads of different types of masks kindly sponsored by Cossy
AC-Dressing mask helps to target skin problems by soothing skin irritation and redness as well as to reduce scars of troubled spots.
This is my 3rd time using Leaders InSolution masks and I must say that they never fail to prove their worth. I love how the mask fits snugly onto my skin without having to adjust much and without having to worry that it might slip off as well. The sheet masks are made of absolute high quality and are enriched in generous amount of essence, but not dripping wet, hence the hassles and messiness are reduced. Also, the essence come in thick liquid which are not diluted in nature, which only goes to show that Leaders InSolution does not cut back on the quality to reduce cost and moreover, they are sold rather cheaply in Watsons! You now need not have to burn holes in your pockets just to achieve comparable results with top brands.
Although claimed to reduce pores, nothing significantly has been seen. However, the healing pimple that I had has now had its scab off, which I believe it helps to alleviate the sore and redness of pimples as well as to speed up the healing and recovery process of pimples.
My skin feels much smoother and more supple now, and I didn't wake up to the usual oily T-zone today! It really helps to reduce the sebum produced and I would definitely recommend those with combination skin (oily T-zone) and oil skin to try out this mask!

Results : My skin feels much softer and supple and my pores on my cheek seem to be shrunk a little. Don't expect miracles to happen with sheet masks. Only constant usage would produce results :) You may read my past review on Sexylook Cotton mask

As ladies, we do know the importance of beauty and vanity. However, beauty is not just about stacking and piling tonnes and tonnes of make up on your face, which may result in repercussions, doing more harm than benefiting your skin and eventually, beauty.
Beauty begins with simple skin care tips that you should pay attention to and beauty also refers to natural beauty. Of course, it would be difficult to search for a lady with 100% flawless skin, but that does not mean it is impossible to work towards that.
Always remember that cosmetics can only do so much and if you don't wish to scare the hell outta people after removing your make up, or if you are ashamed to remove your make up and go bare faced in public, it simply means that you are acknowledging your skin problems. Why not then target these problematic areas by developing good skin care habits? They are not difficult to nurture and do not require deep pockets. Just really simple steps which can go a long way!

Here are some useful great tips you should try!1. 3 basic skin care steps - Cleanse, Apply Toner and Moisturise on your face
Need I say more? This should already be at your fingertips!
You may wish to read my reviews on Kose Supreme Sekkisei
where I've shared some of the reviews as well as info on these 3-step basic skin care tips!
You may not frequent facials or may not slap on sheet masks every now and then, BUT THESE 3-STEP SKIN CARE ARE RULES OF SKIN LAW (if there's ever such a thing) and YOU MUST DEFINITELY FOLLOW! If you are guilty of otherwise, knock your head 3 times!2. Facial Treatments
Now, these are not compulsory and essential compared to point 1, but it is highly encourageable! You need to pamper your skin every now and then apart from the fundamentals. Personally, I believe frequenting beauty salons for facials and what more if you fall into the trap of sales talk and gimmicks, causing you to sign up lots of expensive packages, are not compulsory. Putting things into perspective, look at things this way, if you take good care of your skin, you need not burn huge holes in your pockets, right? Well, that is apart from serious skin problems caused naturally/genetics or severe acne problems etc. Plus, results might not be immediate after attending facials or sometimes, they are just pure useless.
I've rarely, if not, hardly stepped into beauty salons for facials and have always been using sheet/clay/wash off masks at the comfort of my own home. Well, you may say that these masks are not as effective as those potent ingredients beauty salons can offer, but you can't deny that certain masks do work! Read my beauty reviews
and you will know! :)
If sheet masks are not your cuppa tea, you may try to DIY masks using natural food ingredients. There are many websites which offer natural remedies, just google it and you will know! But my advice is, to conduct extensive researches (forums, blogs, beauty consultants etc) on these DIY steps before applying anything on your face and take them with a pinch of salt. You have to be extra careful on whatever you are putting on your face.

3. Beauty is only skin deep
I don't mean "Don't judge its book by its cover", but that you may look gorgeous after piling up on your make up, but after removing them, you scare yourself sometimes too!
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.
And I truly believe that. I'm not a fan of fruits but yes, I hate to admit that they do benefit your skin, apart from other health benefits.
Fruits which you may wish to try :
a. Kiwi and Pomegranate: Kiwi helps to ensure healthy, clear, beautiful skin by preventing wrinkles and blemishes. Pomegranates which are filled with antioxidants helps to fight against free radicals, control acne as well prevents wrinkles.
b. Banana: It is rich in iron, magnesium and potassium and contains lots of vitamin A, B and E and hence works as an anti-aging agent. Furthermore, bananas contain natural fats and complex proteins to smooth and soften your skin For DIY masks, you may wish to try mashing banana as facial!
c. Lemon, berries, oranges : Such citrus fruits contain high dosage of vitamin C as well as antioxidants which help to clarify and rejuvenate your skin. Oranges are also known to slow down ageing process. Those who are obsessed with skin whitening, lemons will do the work for you!
d. Apples are rich in pectin which is a starch that is essential in preventing unsightly acne from popping!
e. Papaya: Known to be one of the best fruits in achieving great skin would be papaya! Loaded with lots of antioxidants and an enzyme known as papain, it helps to kill dead cells as well as to cure skin impurities! You may also wish to consider drinking payaya milk instead of consuming the fruit itself, or you may want to try applying the flesh of papaya on your skin and wait for the miracle to happen!
f. Mango: Power-packed with vitamin-A and rich antioxidants, it fights against skin aging, regenerates skin cells and restores the elasticity of skin.
g. Tomatoes : Aids in skin whitening, tomatoes contain lycopene which helps to protect your skin from free radicals and boosts your skin's natural sun protection factor (SPF). Also, the vitamins and minerals found in tomatoes clarify you skin and prevent blemishes!
Foods which you may wish to try :
a. Whole wheat : Another ingredient in some foods that is really good for your skin is selenium. This is found in whole wheat cereals, breads and baked goods. It helps to improve the skin at a cellular level and keeps you looking young and beautiful.
b. Salmon : along with other fatty fish, walnuts and flaxseed, is high in healthy fatty acids that are key for achieving healthy skin. Essential fatty acids such as omega-3s help keep cell membranes healthy by keeping out harmful substances as well as allowing nutrients to enter cells and exit with waste products. Omega-3s also reduce the body's production of inflammatory agents that can damage the skin.
c. Carrots : They are an excellent source of vitamin A, which is a required nutrient for healthy skin. They also contain high levels of antioxidants, which prevent free radical damage of skin cells. Vitamin A is required for developing and maintaining skin cells, and a deficiency of the vitamin can cause dry skin.
You should also :
a. Hydrate yourself with plenty of water : at least your individual minimum intake -- will help keep your skin young and healthy-looking. Water in caffeinated or sugary beverages does not count; water intake must be from pure, clean water, which rejuvenates skin cells. Water both hydrates cells and helps them move toxins out and nutrients in.
b. Drink Green Tea : Besides the other health benefits which green tea offers, it is rich in antioxidants that reduces inflammation and protect cell membranes. It has been proven to reduce the damage of sunburns and overexposure to ultraviolet light, which in turn reduces the risk of skin cancer. Green tea is also high in polyphenols -- compounds that eliminate cancer-causing free radicals. Some believe that drinking green tea helps to lose weight too!
every once/twice a month by eating only fruits and drinking water the whole day to keep your skin healthy and to wash out those toxins. It aids in constipation as fruits and water works hand in hand to soften the stools.5. Applying sunblock :
Whether or not you are a fan of fair skin, preventing sun and uv rays from damaging your skin should apply across the board. Plus, uv rays cause acne scars to darken as well. Click here to read on how to choose the right sunscreen.6.
Try indulging in a long, relaxing shower or bath
at least once a week. This helps to soothe the skin as well as a form of destressing method. Lesser stress, lesser acnes!7. Exfoliate :
And I don't mean just your facial skin. Try exfoliating your whole body skin as well to remove dead skin cells, leaving your skin smoother, more supple and fairer! Also, since we are encouraged to exfoliate our face before applying any mask as it helps to open up pores, logically, exfoliating the body skin would assist in the absorption of body moisturisers!8.
If you're a make up fan and can't leave without concealing, remember to change your foundation sponge regularly
if you are a compact powder user. A dirty sponge not only result in uneven application of the powder, it may also increase the chances of you contracting acnes as bacteria gets built up in it! 9. Remove all make up thoroughly at the end of the day.
I'm quite sure most of us are guilty for not following this rule of skin law, at least once in our entire lifetime. I too, am guilt-stricken purely out of laziness, but have since avoided such bad habit and will still force myself to quickly remove my make up before I head to bed. Make up clogs pores through impurities which would result in a breakout. You may read my reviews on makeup removers
10. Of course, good skin care is also a matter of healthy lifestyle choices
as beauty is only skin deep. Smoking does a lot of damage on the body including the skin—not only does it contribute to premature aging and wrinkles, it is also the leading cause of more serious health risks like emphysema or lung cancer. The right way to protect the skin in this situation is to simply give up the habit. People have to keep in mind that what they do on the outside affects underlying conditions in the body. This is also why a balanced diet rich in fibre, lean protein, good fats, vitamins and minerals also promotes healthy young-looking skin. Stress affects a person’s peace of mind and makes the skin vulnerable to skin problems like acne breakouts. Managing stress can help a person not only feel good, but look good.
I hope you babes will find these tips useful in achieving your perfect flawless skin!As the saying goes, "There is no ugly women only lazy ones!"
My dark circles are horrid! I'm still in the midst of searching for that one and only HOLY GRAIL! But more HGs are welcomed too!
Tried out the eye mask from Leaders InSolution sponsored by Cossy Pte Ltd
and loving the cooling effect it offers to my tired looking eyes. My suggestion is that you can either chill your masks (including facial masks) or you can just mask in an air-conditioned room (although this might dry out the moisture and essence very fast?). Nothing beats the relaxing cooling effect that masks offers on your skin after a loooonngggggg day at work/school! Work hard yes, but we should also pamper ourselves to balance out the stress! Don't be guilt-stricken because you deserve it and you are only human! Even robots breakdown, no? :)
These eye masks from Leaders InSolution are packed similar to those you see in eye masks which are highly raved in 女人我最大.
Honestly, did not see any immediate effects after using them but I shall diagnose the possible reasons myself :
1. I did not close and rest my eyes while masking. Yes, I was occupied with the computer and was having my dinner at the same time while the masks were on. I know, I should feel guilty, because the instructions say to rest your eyes while masking and I didn't.
2. Maybe eye masks/creams are not miracle solutions and they have to be constantly maintained with masks/cream for gradual improvements to occur.
3. Maybe my dark circles are beyond hope :(
However, the good thing is that, you need not damp your eye areas before you smack on those eye masks. These gel-like masks stick on perfectly without slipping off! Yes, not even when I am sitting up right savouring my food away... Would be a disaster if they slipped off and dropped into my dinner right?! UGH!

- China Glaze Nail Polish
- Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Skincare that includes a sachet of Skin Balancing Exfoliating Cleanser, Optimizing Skin Serum and Skin Balancing Lotion each

Loving the China Glaze nail polish and the Collagen mask! :D
Will take closer pictures of individual items soon and post up reviews once tried! :D
Here's another review on the up and coming Leaders InSolution mask! This time, I'd used the Tea tree relaxing mask to soothe some annoying pimples which I suspect are caused by the Mela tox mask from Leaders InSolution
as well previously. :(
But anyway, this tea tree mask as raved by others, proved its worth. My little pimples actually subsided though not completely, but definitely less obvious and does not hurt when pressed/poked anymore! It reduces the swell and redness as well :)
If you had used the tea tree pimple gel before, you will be able to recognise that this mask contains the exact same smell as well but not as strong. Its smell is rather mild.
Overall, it does help in soothing and calming your troubled skin and annoying pimples and as with other flavours, Leaders InSolution masks are soaked in thick essences!
For me, Leaders InSolution masks have proved to be working and delivering what they promised to (functions) thus far! Will continue trying out all the other flavours as well! Yipee can't wait
